Sharon Ann Croteau (Crunk), age 85, passed away peacefully on March19th, 2024. She was born in Detroit on January 31st, 1939 to Hiram and Mildred Crunk. Sharon was the beloved wife of the late John "Jack"Croteau and the loving mother of Tim, the late Kevin Paul (1966-1969), and Kelly (Sean) Kane. She was the dear Gran to Jack, Liam, Kiefer, and Maeve Kane and also to Keegan and the late Kevin Paul (2004-2020) Croteau. She was the sister to Ed (Lorin) Crunk. Sharon also leaves nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.
After graduating from Redford HS, Sharon enrolled at the University of Detroit to become a dental hygienist and developed a lifelong friendship with Karen (Schlaffer) Baltzer. Later Sharon decided to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, graduating from nursing school at the young age of 50. Sharon went on to serve the University of Michigan for 12 years before retiring from her role as a pediatric nurse for C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.
Through the years, Sharon loved Michigan winters where she enjoyed skiing and snowmobiling. Sharon always found there was never too much snow to travel north, but usually too much snow to drive home. During the summer months, she could be found floating on a raft in Dunham Lake or Hubbard Lake. Sharon was a meticulous house keeper, an amazing cook, where her love language was cooking for those she loved and hosting holidays. She took pride in her home, decorating for all of the holidays and setting up her expansive Dicken’s Village. Sharon enjoyed dancing, working in her garden, reading on her deck with a glass of iced tea and traveling. Sharon’s strong will, adventurous personality and sweet style will be greatly missed.
Please, join us for a celebration of life on Friday, June 7th, 2024, at the Laundry Room in Fenton, MI from 10AM to 2PM.
With Love, Kelly & Tim
