On March 20, 2020, Rosario (Rose) Ramona Gonzalez Fernandez, affectionately known as Charito to many who knew her, died peacefully in her sleep and is resting with the Lord our Father. Charito was born in Cuba on September 5, 1936. She immigrated to the United States from Cuba in 1968 with her family and became a proud US citizen in 1984. She worked and lived in Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando, and spent the last part of her retirement in Michigan. Rose was devout in her faith in God and Jesus Christ her Savior. Rose loved all things associated with nature: flowers, birds, deer, butterflies. She was a writer, painter, a knick knack collector, and a true storyteller. She is survived by her 7 children; son Eugenio (Mayte) Fernandez, grandchildren Dayma (Timothy) Dawson and Eugenio Fernandez III, daughter Mayra Castillo, grandsons Cesar Castillo and Alan Castillo, daughter Cristina (Marco) Vazquez, grandsons Osvaldo (Jessica) Savon, Orlando (Kelly) Savon, Omar (Annalie) Savon, and Osmel (Stacee) Savon, daughter Lourdes Joa, grandchildren Yakelin (Donald) Burnau, Yoel (Amy) Joa, daughter Barbara Hooper, grandchildren Maria (Jared) Pittman and Joshua Hooper, son Juan (Janet) Fernandez, grandchildren Johnmichael and Brianna Fernandez, son Jose (Trina) Fernandez and grandchildren Javier and August Fernandez; her twin brother Mario Reyes; 11 great grandchildren, 2 nieces, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Maria Luisa Pereira and beloved son in law, Fidel Joa.
