Robert Grau Obituary

Mr. Robert Paul Grau, age 91, died January 26th, 2019 at his home in Fenton.  Bob was born in St. Joseph, Michigan, on November 9th, 1931, to Paul and Lucile Grau. He was baptized that same month at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. In June 1945, Bob and Delores were confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran. He graduated from St. Joseph High School and then went on to the United States Army.

On March 12th, 1950, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Delores Grau, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aiken, South Carolina. The Lord blessed their union with two children, Keith and Christine. Bob raised his children with love. He was a Sargent in the U.S. Army during the Korean war, he taught typing and Morse code, he worked for Minoru Yamaski and was the head of Model Building for the World Trade Center. He enjoyed puzzles, golfing, fishing, hunting, bowling, and taking his dog, Sadie, for walks by the water.

Bob and Delores served the Lord faithfully and attended Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Christine (Bob) Cawson, and Diana Grau; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lucile Grau, his sister Bonnie Grau, his grandson Adam Paul Grau, his son Robert Keith Grau, and his beloved Delores Ruth Grau.

Bob’s body will be cremated, and he will be back with his beloved like he had been longing for.
