Richard Joseph Guznack, age 82, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, and most recently of Goodrich, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic.
Following his military service, he was employed by General Motors as a Chief Power House Engineer for many years, where after he was able to enjoy an early retirement in Bradenton, Florida, where he lived for over 25 years. As his Parkinson’s disease progressed and his health declined, he relocated to The Pines of Goodrich in Goodrich, Michigan.
He was known for his relentless work ethic, meticulous nature, stubborn determination, unwavering loyalty, and a sharp, memorable sense of humor that never left him. He loved his children and his grandsons deeply and took great pride in his family.
He is survived by his daughters Rebecca Kleitch and Victoria Guznack; his son-in-law Mark Kleitch; his grandsons Evan, Joseph, Nicholas, and Jacob; and his siblings Barbara Creamer and Norbert Guznack.
He was preceded in death by his son Joseph Guznack and his beloved parents, Jane and Joseph Guznack.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Temrowski Family Funeral Home in Fenton, Michigan with a Funeral Service at 7pm..
Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery is pending at this time.
