Richard D. Buning Sr.

Richard D. Buning Sr., age 63 passed away surrounded by his family on Thanksgiving night.  He is the beloved husband of the late Catherine . Dear father of Richard (Kelly) Buning, Allen Buning, Barbara (Bobby) Buning, Todd (Julianna) Buning, Thomas (Tammy) Shimmel, Kelly (Jeremy) Kowal-Dobbs,  the late Arnold “JR” (Mandy) Shimmel, Mary (Mike) Dragonetti and Joshua Shimmel.  Grandpa of Tommy, Matt, Shay, Mike, Ricky, the late Ben, Jordan, Brandon, Ryan, Christina, Brodye, Kaleb, Chloe, Sylvia, Samantha, Seth, Summer, Patrick, Justin, Denny, Kaylee, Kaitlynn, Kaycee, Jazmynn and Jasper. Great Grandpa of 9. Brother of Leon (Ruth) Buning, Cindy (George) Myers and Dave Buning. Richard also leaves his special friend Debbie Thomas, several nieces, nephews and loving friends.

 A devoted family man, Richard was the Patriarch of his family. He owned and operated R & B Auto, which later became Kelly Full Auto Works, for over 25 years. He was an avid auto mechanic and enjoyed working on cars. Richard also loved to hunt and be in the woods where he felt peace and serenity. He liked watching horror movies and playing a good game of pool. Richard was a huge U of M fan and was cheering from Heaven when they won against Ohio State on Saturday. Richard will be greatly missed by his entire family and host of friends.

His funeral service will be Wednesday, 2pm at Temrowski Family Funeral Home, 500 Main St., Fenton. Friends may visit beginning at 12noon.  Donations may be made to help with funeral expenses C/O Barbara Buning.
