Patricia E. (McDonald) Stieber

Patricia E. Stieber of Grand Blanc, MI passed away surrounded by family on September 1, 2023, at the age of 89.  Pat lived a full and interesting life, joining the Air Force after High School, marrying twice, raising four children, travelling the world, enjoying holidays with her family, and in later years, also spending time with her adult stepchildren’s families, the Stiebers.  She owned her own business: Letter for Letter; and lived her most recent years quietly watching Tennis, reading, and visiting with family. She maintained her independence until her recent illness.  Pat was loved by both friends and family.  Of Irish decendancy, a heritage she was very proud of, she was a good conversationalist sharing an Irish smile and quick wit for those she was visiting with.

Pat is preceded in death by her husbands: George Holmes and Donald Stieber; two of her siblings: Sheila McDonald and James B. McDonald; her sister-in-law Barbara McDonald; son-in-law Duane Posavetz and her close friend of about 50 years: Bridget Wirtz.  She is survived by her two siblings: Moira Desch of Wisconsin and Timothy (Mary) McDonald of Iowa, their children, and grandchildren. Pat’s children: Deborah Holmes of Hartland, MI, James Holmes of Novi, MI, Karin (Steve) Nechvatal of Grand Blanc, MI and Linda Posavetz of Orlando, FL; her grandchildren: Jason (Valerie) Bourque of Brighton, MI, Rachael Holmes of Farmington Hills, MI, Kelly (Steven) Jankovic of Orlando, FL; her great grandchildren: Kailey Bourque, Charlotte Bourque, and Tessa Bourque; the Stiebers and their families.

A memorial mass will be held on Jan 10, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton MI.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Patricia E. Stieber’s memory to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the charity of your choice.
