Muriel Therese Bugala (nee Francis) died peacefully in her home in the early hours of December 18, 2021. She was surrounded by her three children Gregg Bugala (married to Becky Bugala), Karen Renehan (married to Mike Renehan, and Glenn Bugala. She and her husband Donald had been receiving treatment for Covid-19 in their family home on Lake Fenton in the days leading up to her death. Muriel was born in New Bedford, MA on February 24, 1931 to Lena and William Francis, and lived in Detroit prior to her marriage. She went to Wayne State University, and she was married on August 13, 1955. Muriel was a certified Ham Radio operator, an executive secretary for the City of Flint and Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, spoke Spanish, and enjoyed reading, word puzzles, and sending thoughtful cards to family members. She and her husband took their children traveling through Central America several times and spent 25 years wintering in the Bahamas on their 33 foot sailboat, Deja vu. Her husband, Donald, died of Covid-19 two days later, on the morning of December 20, 2022. Muriel had no siblings and is survived by her three children and eight grandchildren.
