Michael Hoppe, age 53 of Holly, went home to the Lord on June 30, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Mike was born on March 23rd, 1970 to Phyllis and Lee Hoppe, in Lansing, MI. He grew up in Williamston, and after graduating high school, attended General Motors Institute where he received his bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering. He later when on to receive his master’s degree in engineering from the University of Michigan and was a 20+ year employee of Robert Bosch Corporation at the time of his death.
Mike enjoyed working outside, gardening, puttering around with his tractors and cutting the grass. He was very active in his church where he served on several boards and was a Lutheran Pioneer leader for 12 years. He loved watching his kids play a variety of sports, and doting on his grandson whenever he got the chance.
He is survived by his wife, Valorie, his beloved children, Ciara (Brian) Cheney, Kurtis (Jordan Holscher) Cooley, Joseph (Skye Jones) Hoppe, Anna (Tobias Edgett) Hoppe, the apple of his eye - his grandson, Theo Cheney, his parents, Lee and Phyllis (Schultz) Hoppe, brother Joe Hoppe, sister Rene Hoppe, and many other beloved friends and family.
There will be a memorial service held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 5005 McCandlish Rd, Grand Blanc MI, on August 5, at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are encouraged in Mike's honor to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.
