Mary Ellen (Schram) Billings, 81, of Fenton, Michigan passed away with family by her side at Wellbridge in Fenton on November 17, 2024 after a lengthy illness, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
She was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 10, 1943, to Margaret Ann (Perron) and John Schram. She spent much of her childhood in Ontonagon, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, before moving to Chicago. She graduated from Academy of Our Lady in 1961 and later met her husband, Rob, while taking ballroom dancing classes.
On January 27, 1968, Robert and Mary Ellen married in Chicago, sharing 57 years of marriage. Together they have two children: Ann Marie (Rogers) of Frisco, Texas, and Jeffrey Robert (Ann Sikorski) of Mishawaka, Indiana.
Mary Ellen took special joy in her grandchildren Chloe (23), Sam (23), and Carson (9) and had beautiful memories of reading and spending time with them. Each of them has her compassionate and empathetic heart and love for animals.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her mother and father and is survived by her husband, Rob and her children and grandchildren who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
A special thank you to the staff and nurses at Wellbridge for their care of Mary Ellen over the last several months.
