Mary Ann (Hildebrant) Tubbs

Mary Ann Tubbs, 68 of Lapeer, passed away Monday August 24, 2020 at home with her family after numerous battles with cancer.

Mary Ann was born August 4, 1952 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Winston and Norine (Wittbrodt) Hildebrant. She graduated from Flushing High School. She enjoyed her many jobs in women's fashion, which led to modeling for Vogue. Mary Ann had many interests which included playing the piano, softball, bowling, and skiing at Boyne Mt.

Mary Ann married Brad Tubbs on March 29, 1985 in St. Thomas. She loved traveling with her husband and the other “Rebels" on the Viking Long Ships to many different countries in Europe. For the last 26 years she enjoyed staying on the ocean in Costa Rica with family and friends.

Among her many talents she was known for her delicious cooking, eye for design, and green thumb. She could get lost in a good book, she loved live music, and the theater. She shared her passion for Ms. Pac-Man, cards, and board games with her loved ones.

Mary Ann's greatest achievement was her family to whom she devoted her life. She loved being a wife and mother and was ecstatic when she became a grandma to Brayden and Ashton. 

Mary Ann will be sadly missed by her loving husband and caregiver, Brad Tubbs; daughters, Andrea (Phillip) Barajas and Casey (Donald) Tubbs; grandchildren, Brayden Ratering and Ashton Barajas; father, Winston Hildebrant; sister, Diana Gardner; brother, Thomas (Joyce) Hildebrant, daughter-in-law Sarah Norko. She will be forever remembered by extended family and dear friends. 

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son Brandon Norko; mother Norine Hildebrant, and in-laws Arliegh and Leona Tubbs.

Mary Ann’s beautiful smile and infectious laugh will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Mary Ann's life will be held next summer due to Covid. Information will be given out at a later date.

Memorial donations in memory of Mary Ann may be made to:  St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.
