Maria "Mary" Periard

Maria "Mary" Antonietta Periard, passed away at the age of 61 on Monday, December 5th, 2022.

Mary was larger-than-life. Her laugh reverberated through a room, her facial expressions gave away exactly what she was thinking, and she swore like a sailor. You knew she liked you if she gave you a nickname or teased you about one of your quirks. 

Mary loved to go out to eat, dance (mostly with her hands) at weddings and in the car, listen to John Mellencamp, and watch reality TV. She was a hair stylist and thrived helping her clients feel beautiful inside and out. When she saw her husband for the first time, she told her mom she met the man she was going to marry and she was right. Mary was usually right about things, and she knew it. Even though she almost always dressed in black, Mary’s light shone bright wherever she went. 

Mary was preceded in death by her brother Michael Isopi, mother Liliana Isopi, father Carlo Isopi, aunt Roselyn and uncle Frank Volante, and in-laws Gladys and Billy Periard. She is survived by her husband Mark Periard, daughter Liana (William) Vultaggio, sister Michelle (Shawn Hughes) Isopi, aunt Clara Isopi, and many cherished friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 13th from 4pm - 8pm at Fountains Golf & Banquet in Clarkston. There will be hors d'oeuvres and beverages to enjoy as we gather to share memories of Mary.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you tip generously this holiday season, plant flowers in your garden this spring, or enjoy a delicious steak with those you love in honor of Mary.
