Marcella "Marci" Maria (Kozial) Baker

Marcella “Marci“ Maria Baker, age 78 of Midland, Michigan passed away on Saturday evening, October 14, 2023. Marci was born on October 30, 1944, in Washington DC, daughter of Francis “Frank” A. Koziol, who lost his life in World War II in 1944 and was a Purple Heart recipient, and Stephanie “Stella“ J. Aman (nee: Piontek).  On June 8, 1991, she married Alvin “Al” Lee Baker in Gladwin, Michigan and they enjoyed 32 years of married life together. Marci graduated from Farwell High School in 1962 and from Ferris State University in 1966 with an associate degree in Secretarial Sciences. Marci’s work career included performing secretarial services for Saginaw Steering Gear (Nexteer), GM Central Foundry, and Dow Chemical until she retired in May of 1992.
Marci’s relationship with her Lord and Savior was of the utmost importance to her. She was most proud of her son, David. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her generosity and warmth, and her loving heart. She was always impeccably dressed without a hair out of place! She enjoyed attending church and family events, Bible study and lunching with her girlfriends. She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary and you could always count on getting a card from her.
Marci is survived by her husband Alvin Baker of Midland, MI; her son, David (Christine) VanDerwill of Vancouver, BC, Canada; her sisters, Lillian Nedeau, Phyllis Aman, Stephanie (Bob) Grubb, and Suzanne Drum; her brothers, Michael (Karin) Aman, and Joseph (Alice) Aman; and her many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Margaret Konopnicki; her stepfather, Philip Aman; and her brother-in-law, Ivan Nedeau.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, 11am at the Christian Celebration Center, 6100 Swede Ave; Midland, MI. Memorial Visitation is from 10:00 to 11:00 am; Service starts at 11:00am.  A luncheon will be immediately following at the same location.
