Louis "Lou" Lobsinger Obituary

Mr. Louis “Lou” John Lobsinger, Sr., age 75, of Otisville MI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, surrounded by family at his residence, after a fearless battle with dementia.  Lou was born and raised in Detroit where he attended St. Rita High School and received his baccalaureate degree in Mass Communications from Wayne State University.  Lou began his career in radio as News Director for WEXL-AM in Royal Oak.  He went on to hold on-air positions at WHFI-FM, WABX-FM, WKMH-AM, as well as television voiceover work at WTVS-TV from 1962 to 1974.  Most recently Lou was the host of the Lou Lobsinger Show on Supertalk 1570-AM in the greater Flint area. Each weekday morning from 7 to 9 am, Lou would discuss current events, conduct interviews, and solicit the thoughts and feelings of his large audience.  This was something Lou considered an awesome responsibility. He believed everyone had a story and deserved to be heard. Lou also worked in the insurance industry with Potter and Roose, KA Sutton, and Security First.

Lou loved his Flint community and worked with several local organizations including Kiwanis, the Flint Business Association, Flint Chamber of Commerce, SME, Toastmaster, and Right to Life.  Lou spent 23 years with his beloved wife Tricia Lobsinger.  He loved spending time with family, dancing, music, photography, traveling, and cruising around in his convertible he referred to as "Little Red".  We were blessed with his sense of humor and zest for life. His charismatic and outgoing personality was apparent to all that knew him.

Lou was preceded in death by his father Joseph, mother Florence, brother Donald, and sister Margaret.  He is survived by his loving wife Tricia Lobsinger and children Louis (Kourtney) Lobsinger Jr, David (Maggie) Lobsinger, Kate (Chris) Waxweiler, Beth (Scott) Lobsinger, Kirk (Carrie) Wickham, Paige (Joey) Pistone, Leslie (Kenny) Britt, Kevin Wickham; grandchildren Owen Lobsinger, Aidan Lobsinger, Grace Lobsinger, Gabriella Lobsinger, David Lobsinger, Jr, Sloan Waxweiler, Weston Waxweiler, Brady Waxweiler, Hannah Lobsinger, Kristen Wickham, Nicholas Wickham, Nori Wickham, Travis Mazurka, Tianna Pistone, Brandon Hotlz, Brandi Holtz; great-grandchildren Ava Wickham and Addison Wickham.  Lou’s wish was no service or contributions.  Cremation has taken place.  His family requests that you honor him in the way he lived his life. Through his love of family, music, dancing, sense of humor, charisma, and the respect and kindness he gave to all of those he came in contact with throughout his life.
