Kazi Sekander Ali

My beloved father, Kazi Sekander Ali, at the age of 80, passed away peacefully today, 9th December, 2021 in the presence of his wife and daughters in Michigan.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun

He was a Valiant Freedom Fighter and a former Diplomat of Bangladesh, who was one of the 65 officials who hoisted the Flag of Independent Bangladesh for the first time on foreign soil in Kolkata, India, on 18th April 1971.

He has left behind his loving wife, Ahkter Jahan, his beloved children (Zafar, Farzana, Farhana) & precious grandchildren (Yusuf, Ameera and Amira).

He was an honest and good human being. We were and will always be extremely proud of my father’s dedication towards his country and the marks he is leaving behind for his family.

I kindly seek everyone to take a moment and say a prayer for my father’s departed soul. May Allah make it easy on the family to accept the unbearable and irreplaceable loss.

May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannatul Ferdous, Ameen.
