Mrs. Julia Margaret Mikula (nee: Simms), age 79, died April 26, 2021 at home in Durand. She was born September 28, 1941 in Huntington, West Virginia, the daughter of Roy Talbott and Edith Forrest (nee: Collins) Simms. She is survived by her children, Thomas Francis (Janice) Tucker II, Teresa Lynn (Rory) Williamson, Tamala Marie (James) Bothwell, James Lawrence (Dana) Tucker, and Dorothy Caroll (fiancé Mike Malone) Adkins; grandchildren, Thomas F. Tucker III, Kyle Tucker, Eric Tucker, Jaiden Tucker, Dylan Tucker, Aaron Michael Williamson, Angelina Nicole Williamson, Brian (Kristen) Williamson, Tucker Bothwell, Samuel Bothwell, Tara (Kristian) McGaw, Darren Mahon, James Mahon, Britny (fiancé Tyler Verkennes) Mikula, Adrianna Adkins, and Denver Malone; great grandchildren, Tyler Williamson, Britten Williamson, Jemma Mahon, Khaleesi McGaw, Hayden Mikula, and Kolton Mikula; and a number of precious nieces, nephews, and friends. She loved Sugarbear, her companion and the family pit bull who loved her just as much. She was preceded in death by her son, David Talbot Tucker and siblings; Caroll Forrest Conner, Roy Simms Jr., and Mary Francis Fields. Julia was a member of the Davison Eagles Club, VFW Auxiliary, Old News Boy volunteer, worked at Fisher Body in Flint and later retired from GM Truck and Bus Medal Fab.

She enjoyed planning potluck lunches for her coworkers and organizing lotto club, gardening, bingo, bowling, shuffle board and horseshoes. She loved rooting for the Detroit Tigers and Michigan State (mostly because the team colors reminded her of her alma mater). Her children will remember her most for her Big Heart and her strength.
