Joseph “Jody” Ewing, age 59 of Burton, passed away surrounded by his family on October 23, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held at Richfield Church of the Nazarene on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023, with Visitation at 2:00pm and Service at 3:00pm. Dinner will follow.
Joe was the beloved husband of Barbara Ann. Stepson of Barbara K Ewing, Father of Anthony, Josh, John, Thess and Heather. Grandfather of Arianna, Aleah, Aubree, Alex, Lachlan and Camden. Brother of Cary, Tim, Dawn (Middleton) Leland, Shannon (Greg) Stimson, and Holly. Joe was proceeded in death by his Mother & Step-Father Geraldine & Richard Middleton, Father Dr. Joseph D. Ewing, Brother Eric Ewing, and Nephew Adam Ewing.
Joe was born on October 1st, 1964. Graduated from Kearsley High School. Married Barbara Ann on March 18th, 2000. Joe attended Richfield Church of the Nazarene from a young age. He enjoyed being a part of the Flint Male Chorus. His work experience included many years in the culinary industry. He often spoke of the years he spent working at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island. He made lifetime friends from when he worked at Country Kettle in Flint. He was a licensed massage therapist, owned his own residential painting company and later spent the last years of his career working security. He loved and served the Lord. He loved and cared for his wife dearly and would often brag about his grandchildren. Joseph leaves behind many nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.
