John Paul Ely

John P. Ely, age 52 of Fenton, passed away suddenly on August 29, 2019. Loving partner of Lisa for over 17 years. Step father of Calleigh Huhta. Father of Cody Ely and the late Cory Ely. Brother of Jackie and Jim, step brother of Ed, Cindy, Karen and Curt.  John also leaves nieces, nephews and many loving friends. He was predeceased by his parents Edwin Chapman and Rebecca Ely. John graduated from Milford High School in 1985, he went on to work as an Expert Tree Trimmer for the last 30+ years. John was an avid motorcyclist, taking many trips to Sturgis and Arizona. He was the life of the party and lit up any room when he walked in.  He loved to travel to warm and tropical places or sit by the pool with a cold beer. John was a leader and was well respected by his peers, he helped many people and was the one who everybody went to for help.  John’s passion for life and everything he did will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 1pm at Venture Church, 8457 East Highland Road, Howell 48843. Friends may visit beginning at 11am.
