Jo Ann (Ekman) Laviolette

JO ANN LAVIOLETTE, age 83, of Bad Axe, MI, died Saturday, February 12, 2022. Jo was born April 12, 1938, in Dearborn, MI, to George and Hester (Rodgers) Ekman and spent most of her life in the Dearborn area. She married Glen Laviolette on November 19, 1960, in Dearborn. Jo and Glen moved to Hubbard Lake, MI in 1995. They were noted for welcoming company to their lake home.. the door was always open. Jo enjoyed many crafts such as knitting, needlepoint and beaded jewelry making. Jo knitted Christmas fireplace stockings for over 100 family and friends from 1960 on. Jo taught classes for her beaded jewelry making at her winter home in Florida. Jo’s smile will be embedded in the hearts of many. Jo’s eldest son, Bryan, died in 2018 (Kim), and their children Tyler, Logan and Joshua live throughout Michigan.  Surviving Jo are two of her three children: Dale of Brighton, MI, Stephan and his children Joshua, Nathan and Cameron of Kenosha, WI, an "adopted daughter" Lori (Ken) Hoehn of Indian River, MI. Jo has been taken for cremation by Temrowski Family Funeral Home in Fenton, MI.
