Coping with Grief

Janet Marjorie (Huston) Hagerman, age 93, of Fenton, passed May 7, 2024 at her apartment in Provision Living Fenton, with family by her side. Her wishes of no public ceremony will be honored and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation, P.O. Box 62066 Durham, NC 27715, in honor of her deceased son Mike.(www.glioblastomafoundation.org).
Jan was born February 21, 1931 in Flint, the only child of Derwood and Marjorie (Embury) Huston. They moved to Cranes Cove area of Lake Fenton in 1942 and Jan was a graduate of Fenton High school in 1948, which is where she met her future husband Dale Hagerman. Dale and Jan were married on August 20, 1949 in Fenton, they lived in Fenton and Davison prior to moving with 5 children to their dream home location on Lakeside Landing, Lake Fenton in 1962. Jan raised their 5 children along the shores of Lake Fenton, enjoying the summers waterskiing, sailing and entertaining friends and family. Jan was an active parent helping out at her children’s school functions and field trips. Jan was also an avid golfer and skier and enjoyed yearly family trips to the Colorado Mountains. Jan went back to work in the mid 70’s with her husband at Diplomat Pharmacy in Flint, maintaining the gift card section as the “Hallmark Lady”. Jan and her husband semi-retired in the 1990’s and resided in Briny Breezes, Florida during the winter months, enjoying golfing and boating with their numerous Spring Meadow friends.
Surviving are four children, Deborah (David) Ward of Fenton, Phil Hagerman of Fenton, John Hagerman of Linden, Marc (Jaimie) Hagerman of Lowell; daughter–in-law Lynne Hagerman of Fenton; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Hagerman (of 68 years) and her son Michael Hagerman in 2022.
