Janeice M. (Porritt) Colwell

Mrs. Janeice Marie Colwell, age 86, died February 9, 2026 at The Oaks at Woodfield.  

Born to Robert and Florence Porritt in 1939 in Flint Mi. Janeice married husband James Willis Colwell November 13, 1965.  Janeice enjoyed camping in many RV’s with husband James.  She enjoyed a long career as a Cook for Ainsworth High school and Genesee Intermediate Learning Center as well as being a proud member of the Mundy township Board. 

Janeice was a proud mother of 6 children- Vince (Rita) Colwell, Robert (Tammy) Colwell, Steve Melchor Colwell, Dina Colwell, Waunieta (Jeff) Polidan, and Stephen Colwell and Tami Schaeffer.  She had 9 grandchildren- Jeremy, Leah, Jason, Andrew, Jessica, Kristina, Justin, James, Ashley.  She also had 9 great grandchildren- Russell, Oliver, Marilyn, Tinley, Paisley, Ella, Carson, Robert, Eliana.  As special mention of Nephews Craig and Eric Daly.   Janeice also leaves many family and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband James Willis Colwell, parents Robert and Florence Porritt and sister Roberta Daly.

A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, May 9th at 11am at the funeral home.  Friends may gather from 10am until the time of her service. 

Interment will take place Monday, May 11th, at 10am, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
