Jacqueline "Jacquie" Wright

With sadness the family of Jacqueline Wright, "Jacquie," mourns her passing at age 83 on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Fenton Healthcare Center. A native Michigander, Jacqueline was born in Detroit on October 27, 1937, to parents James and Thereasa Wright. She was the youngest of three children and enjoyed her childhood growing up with brother James Jr "Sonny", and sister Gloria. As a child Jacqueline had many interests and loved learning new things, and music was one of her favorite interests. To that end she focused her efforts on learning to play the piano on her own, and even though she was self-taught she learned to play very well and kept everyone entertained with her talent. Another of Jacqueline's lifelong interests was reading, and one of her favorite books to read was the bible. She also had a great sense of humor which she kept throughout her life. While living at Fenton Healthcare Jacquie especially enjoyed collecting stuffed animals, playing bingo with friends and receiving 'prizes' for winning, and loved getting unexpected presents. She was kind to those around her, and was treated as family by everyone there.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents James and Thereasa Wright, brother James Wright Jr, nephew Dimitri Wright, and former sister-in-law Audrey Hale. She will be sadly missed by many family members, and leaves to cherish her memory loving sister Gloria Simmons, sister-in-law Brigitte Haynes, nieces and nephews: Mark Wright, Tony Wright, Heather Wright, Tonya Y Simmons, Tonya Roberson (Byron) Marcus Simmons (Jahala) Rachel Wright, great nieces and nephews: Amber Wright, Antoine Douglas (Maria), Malik Bridges, Dimitri Wright Jr, Isaac Wright, Tevin Wright, Kalyn Wright, Lauren Simmons, Kennedy Wright, Brandon Smith, Adelaide Smith, and a host of precious great-great nieces and nephews and loving friends. Special Thanks from the family to everyone at Fenton Healthcare Center for taking such good care of Jacquie for so many years. Per the family's request cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
