Helen Irene (Zitka) McComb

Helen Irene (Zitka) McComb, of Goodrich passed away Thursday November 25, 2021, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Grand Blanc Township.

She was born April 26, 1925 in East Jordon, Michigan to Charles James and Elizabeth (Putuniczk) Zitka.

On October 5, 1942, in Defiance, Ohio, she married Kenneth E. McComb of Clio. They traveled for a few years, as Kenneth was still in the military. Eventually they settled in Clio and after Kenneth's death she moved to Goodrich.

Helen worked with her husband in their construction business. She also worked for the State of Michigan in the Employment Office.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son Ronald Earl. She was also preceded in death by her brother Francis C. Zitka and his wife Pat and her sister Rhea Jean Zitka Parsons Carpenter.

Surviving are three children Daniel (Jerri), of Linden; James, of East Lansing; and Susan, of Fenton; one sister Esther A. Davis, of Midland; grand children; great grand children and many nieces and nephews.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children and her many friends.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
