Donna L. (McMichael) Wood

Donna Lou (McMichael) Wood, age 90 passed away in the early morning hours of April 29th after a life well lived. She was born in September 16th, 1932, in Manistique MI, and later settled in the Fenton where she raised her 9 surviving children. She retired to the city of Linden and lived the rest of her life in a community she loved. 

You couldn’t meet Donna without hearing the latest family updates, she was so proud of her children, her grandchildren as well as her great grandchildren. Family meant everything to her. 

Family wasn’t Donnas only passion. She was passionate about many things. She was an amazing crafter and quilter; she was a great cook, and she was a fierce advocate for anything she believed in.

Donna was a hard worker who never shied away from a challenge. She was forced to face many challenges through her life. Her determination and strength in the face of adversity became an inspiration to those who knew her.

If you knew Donna, you know she was a strong, sassy, hardheaded woman, who always spoke her mind. She believed in honesty and was nothing short of her authentic self at all times. Despite what some would see as a tough exterior, Donna had a giving heart. She had a deep love for her family and friends. She was a caretaker to many who needed her through her life without question. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. 

Donna will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Her legacy of hard work, creativity, and love will live on through her family and friends. Love you too wherever and beyond. Ciao for now. 

Surving are her children, Joseph(fiance Nadine) Wood, Kimberley Wood, Murray(Judy)Wood, Stephanie(Roger) Larson, Canice(Greg) Smith, Nicholas Wood; 15 total grandchildren (2 deceased);  9 great grandchildren; and; 3 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death, parents Rose Turco and Alfred McMichael; children, Jeffery, Irene, Tracey, and Russell; and granddaughters, Shea and Jodi. 

The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
