Donald Dean Durbin of Clarkston, Michigan, formerly of Taylorville, Illinois passed away Tuesday November 17, 2020 in his daughter’s home. He was born on January 8, 1947 in Taylorville the son of Floyd and Dorothy (Johnson) Durbin, Sr. He married Ella Forgette September 3, 1969 in Flint, Michigan. She preceded him in death May 23, 2018. Don is survived by his mother Dorothy Durbin of Taylorville; children Donnie Durbin (Jenny) of Flint, Michigan, Dawn Caudell (Tom) of Clarkston, Michigan; grandchildren Amber Durbin, Michigan, Kerensa (Loren) Stein, Freesland, Michigan, Makayln Caudell, Clarkston, Michigan, Tommy Caudell, Clarkston, Michigan; great grandchildren Lincoln Stein, Barret Stein; Siblings Melvin (Diana) Durbin, Floyd (Sandy) Durbin, Jr., Sherry Stewart (companion Michael), Deanna (Martin) Vota, Steve (Nikki) Durbin and several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his father Floyd Durbin, Sr. Don graduated from Taylorville High School in 1965. He worked at Circle Steel after he graduated. He moved to Flint, Michigan and worked briefly as a painter. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country for four years in the military police. Don worked at General Motors in Flint, Michigan until retirement. Don loved bowling and bowled on seven leagues. Don enjoyed playing poker. Don was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors. Don also loved to discuss politics but respected others opinions. He enjoyed his family especially the meals that his daughter prepared for him. He greatly enjoyed his many trips home to Taylorville. Don will be cremated and will be missed by family and friends.
