Donald Adam Bugala died at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc Township at 8 am Monday, December 20, 2021, due to complications from Covid-19. He was 91 years old. Don was born on February 27, 1930 in Detroit, MI to Adam and Antoinette Bugala. After attending high school in Detroit, Don served in the US Navy as a meteorologist in California, Polynesia and Alaska. After his service, he attended college at the University of New Mexico and Wayne State University. In 1955, he married Muriel Francis, and they remained married until her death of Covid-19 two days before Don. Don worked for NOAA's National Weather Service for 30 years, primarily at Flint Bishop Airport, and lived on Lake Fenton for over 60 years. He and his wife took their children traveling through Central America several times and spent 25 years wintering in the Bahamas on their 33 foot sailboat, Deja vu. Don enjoyed travel, storytelling, gardening, and fishing. He is survived by his three children Gregg (Becky) Bugala, Karen (Mike) Renehan, and Glenn Bugala. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 nephews and neices, and his three sisters--Loretta Rosenquist, Betty (Wally) Karolak, and Judy Buesching.
