Dennis James Holden, Jr.

Dennis James Holden, Jr. – Son, brother, father, grandfather, age 52, of Flint, MI passed away peacefully into his Lord’s arms on Saturday, February 29, 2020 following a courageous, year-long battle with glioblastoma.  Dennis was born July 9, 1967 in Mount Clemens, MI.  He drove truck for many years and was a proud member of the leadership team of Cub Scout Pack 161.  Left to cherish his memory are his mother; Linda L. (Roberts) Holden of Sparta, TN, who faithfully remained by his side until the end, his children; Dennis (Rocquel) Holden III of Englewood, CO, Joshua (Cassie) Holden of Fostoria, MI and Jacob and Amelia Holden of Flint, MI, his brothers; Jerry (Laura) Holden of New Mexico and Robert Holden of South Carolina, his grandchildren; Emma, Bentley, and Zane, his nieces; Chelsea Wright, Abigail Turner, and Genevieve and Rachel Holden, and  special friends William Baker, Betty Binder, Jeanne Jackson and her children (Logan, Livia, and Layne), Margaret and Peter Karagozian, Nicole Ladd, Deric and Michelle Maguire, Brian Prentice, and Howard Turner. Special thanks to Cub Scout Pack 161 for outstanding loyalty and support and for the caring and compassionate friends at Medilodge of Montrose and Grace Hospice.  He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis J. Holden, Sr. A memorial gathering will take place at the Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge 7449 Miller Road on Monday, March 16, 2020 from 6pm-730pm with a remembrance ceremony at 7pm.  Per Dennis’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  Memorial contributions may be made to Cub Scout Pack 161 or Whaley Children’s Center in Dennis’s name.  Envelopes will be available at the service.
