David Phillips Obituary

David Lee Phillips, age 75 of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024 at Briarwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Flint, MI. Born September 13, 1948 to Jessie & Betty Phillips.

David is survived by his beloved wife Sharon Phillips; daughter Dawn Coleman and son Scott Phillips; brothers, Tom (Sharon) Phillips, Jerry (Milissa) Phillips and Mark Phillips; sisters, Linda (Dave) Janssen and Martha (Nick) Oswanski; sister-in-law Linda Phillips; brother-in-law George (Karen) Stealgraeve; grandchildren, Marc(Amanda) Coleman, Amber Coleman and Emma Phillips; great granddaughters; Ember Coleman and Dakoda Comstock.

David was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Betty Phillips; brother Mike Phillips and granddaughter Ali Coleman.

Lieutenant Phillips proudly served his country as a decorated US special forces officer. Following his service in the US Army, David pursued a career in electrical engineering. Retiring from General Dynamics. David enjoyed many years of traveling and showing horses with his wife and boating with his children and grandchildren. He also cherished spending time with family and friends. If you ever needed help, David was always there to lend a hand.

David will be laid to rest this spring at Great Lakes National Cemetery with full military honors.
