Cynthia Ann Fichtner D.V.M. (known by friends and family as Cyndi), 56, passed away on January 6th, 2024.
Cyndi’s affinity for animals began early in life and would take root following years of horseback riding during adolescence. In adulthood she received two degrees in animal science and agribusiness management from Michigan State University. Guided by her love of animals and cuisine she pursued work that included horse breeding, riding instruction, restaurant management, and food and wine distribution. In 2014, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian, later establishing an independent mobile practice in Texas.
Cyndi loved planning and preparing meals for the family. Among many things, she will be remembered for her radiant smile, her charming adopted accent, acquired by years of living in the southern states, her fondness for the Christmas season, and years of loving devotion to her children, the dogs and cats who accompanied her in life.
She is survived by her father, Michael (Diane) Fichtner; sister Suzanne (Tim) Powers; brother Brian (Caroline) Fichtner; nephews Logan Powers and Harrison Fichnter, and niece Lauren Powers. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Fichtner.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wellbridge of Fenton for the wonderful care she received in the last years of her life.
