Cora Lou Miller, 90 of Linden Michigan passed away peacefully Friday January 10, 2025. Cora Lou was born December 13, 1934 in Cranfills Gap, Texas to Herman and Marie Reesing, She graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1953 where she was voted “Best Personality”. She entered the nursing program at Parkland Hospital in Dallas Texas where she became a RN. She worked at the Veteran’s Hospital in Big Springs Texas as a general nurse, then as an operating room nurse at Malon Hogan Hospital. It was in Big Springs Texas that Cora Lou met Dr. William E. DeHart while he was stationed there as a Fighter Pilot Instructor at Webb Air Force Base. They married in 1956 and had their first child there, Laura, in 1958, before moving to Lake Fenton Michigan where they had two additional children, Lisa and William Jr. Cora Lou’s civic engagement in the community was illustrious, serving as President of the Fenton New Comers Club and participating in the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Auxiliary. She was a delegate to the Republican State Convention in 1968, and served as the Lake Fenton School District’s PTA President 1965-1967. She later did volunteer work at the American Red Cross in Flint during summers. In the 1970’s she was the Utilization Control Auditor for the Tri-County Michigan area Hospital’s and later worked at Memorial Health Care in Owosso as PSRO staff . She also went to University of Detroit, Mercy where she obtained a Bachelor Degree in 1981. After her divorce in 1979, she married William Miller where they lived on the 18th fairway of Spring Meadows CC for 44 years. During winters they lived at their place in Briny Breezes Florida. Cora Lou was preceded in death by her late husband, William Miller, brother Darrell, daughter- Laura Boughner, granddaughter Jennifer Barrow, grandson Will Kavner great-granddaughters Lira Fiene, Christina and Madeline DeHart. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa DeHart and son William DeHart. She is survived by the following grandchildren: Joe Bougher and wife Jillian, Elizabeth Fiene and husband Johnathan, Amanda Barrow, Jacob Kavner, and Alexis DeHart. Great grandchildren Hunter Higgins, Logan and Wyatt France, and Kalolaine Kavner and William Kavner. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 16, 2925, at 6pm at the Temrowski Family Funeral Home, 500 Main Street in Fenton. Family and friends may gather from 4pm until the time of her service.
