Cleo Miriam Silver, age 85, died peacefully March 31, 2022. Cleo was born on January 8, 1937 in New Germany, Nova Scotia, Canada the third child of Lloyd & Gertrude (nee: Meisner) Silver. The family moved to Boston, Massachusetts when Cleo was 9 years old. After graduating from Boston Latin High School, Cleo attended The New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. Cleo went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree from Boston University and a Master’s degree from Wayne State University. She joined the Peace Corps and spent 3 years in Togo, West Africa. Cleo held various nursing positions throughout her career, eventually coming to Flint, Michigan as Senior Vice President of Patient Services & Planning at McLaren General Hospital. Following that, she also served as Parish Nurse at Court Street United Methodist Church in Flint.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ralph Carmen Silver; sister Vera (Delong) Bruhm and nephews, David and Dale Delong.
Left to cherish her memory is niece, Sharon Anderson and longtime best friends, Dottie Broomfield and Judy Noye.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 8, 11am at Court Street United Methodist Church, 225 West Court St., Flint, with visitation beginning at 10 am until time of service. Pastors, Jeremy Peters and Steve Buck officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Crossover Outreach in Flint, or the charity of your choice.
