Carrol D. Simpson

Carrol (Curly) Simpson, age 94 of Howell, MI, passed away peacefully at 5:48pm Wednesday, October 30th at his home with his family.  

Carrol was born May 30th, 1930, in Cisne, IL, to Nile, and Viola (Barnes) Simpson. He married Kathryn Donna Grove in 1952 staying happily married for 62 years until per passing in 2013.

He is survived by his son, Bob Simpson & Laurie Lewis of Howell; grandson Austin (Zoe) Simpson; great grandson Holden; great granddaughter Wenivyre; and several nieces & nephews who he loved.           

He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn; his parents; brothers, Harold, Lester, Dale; and sister Evelyn.

Carrol worked in the oil fields and retired from the Jim Bigard oil company of Mt Pleasant MI. in 1990.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved them very much. He was a  great husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many.  

We was an avid hunter, outdoor enthusiast, reader, kept up on current events, and sports. He was a very kind, loving, strong, stoic man with a great sense of humor. He lived a healthy life. He passed away at 94 with a very sharp mind.
