Bette A. (Knott) Buchanan

Bette Ann (nee: Knott) Buchanan , age 95, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, in her home surrounded by loved ones. Bette was born at home on January 17, 1929 to William and Gladys Knott in New Madrid, MO. 

Bette, who was preceded in death by her husband, Fremont, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, including the four legged furry members.  She also served her community as a Registered  Nurse at the Fenton Medical Center for many years. She continued her education and she, with her best friend of 64 years, Joy Teachenor, were pioneers as two of the first Nurse Practitioners in Michigan.

She enjoyed traveling and fell in love with Arizona where she spent many wonderful winters. She lived a long and meaningful life and will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she positively influenced in so many ways.  

Bette is survived by her children Janine (Butch) Wallace, Rebecca 

Tereau, Lezley Stone, Kathy (Jim) Welch, Terry (Bethlynn) Buchanan, Lora Buchanan, Chris Kolberg and recently lost Greg Buchanan; Grandchildren, Jacob Tereau, Adam Tereau, Shaina Taff, Adrienne (Rob) Galbraith, Tracy (Ethan) Konett, Brian (Haley)Welch, Nicholas (Katherine) Buchanan, Geoff (Jessica) Molnar, Terilynn Buchanan, James Buchanan, Tiffany (Justin) Stark; Great grandchildren, Harper Taff, Gage Galbraith, Blake Galbraith, Lou Konett, Sam Konett, and Ivan Molnar.

A celebration of life will be held at a yet to be determined date at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
