Bertha Louise Cross, age 88, of Fenton, passed away Friday January 12, 2024.  Bertha was born April 15, 1935 in Ortonville, the daughter of Fredrik and Hazel (Donaldson) Tverdal.   She graduated from Linden High School in 1953 and married Donald K. Cross June 14, 1958.  She held many jobs through the years, ultimately retiring from the Fenton School District.  She loved attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, plays, and concerts.  Her family was her pride and joy.  Surviving are her children, Doug (Cyndi) Cross, Greg (Tami) Cross, Debbie (Pat) Rockman, and Rich Cross; 10, grandchildren; 15, great grandchildren; sister in law Lynda Foust; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 57 years Don, and brother, James Tverdal.  Visitation will be Thursday, January 25th, from 4pm until 8pm, at the Temrowski Family Funeral Home, 500 Main Street, Fenton.  Mrs. Cross will lie in state Friday, January 26th, from 10am until the time of her Funeral Service at 11am, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fenton, where she was a lifelong member, with Pastor Peter Ahlersmeyer officiating.  Burial will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.  In lieu flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
