Barbara Ann (Samples) Richards

Barbara A. Richards, age 75 of Burton, passed away surrounded by her family on June 23, 2024. Beloved wife of Walt for almost 40 years. Loving mother of Regina (Larry) Chenault, Theresa Ngiramulei and Dianna (Joseph) Queen.  Dear grandma of Kaylee (Dustin) Jackson, Rachael (Brandon Phelps) Chittick, Kurtis (Jennifer) Queen, Zachary (Kaylee) Ngiramulei and Jaclyn (Dylan Malcomnson) Ngiramulei. Sister of Jerry (Carol) Samples, Billy (Carol) Samples, Timmy Samples and Becky Bowen. Best friend of Mary Marlow.  Barbara also leaves several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her special dog J.J. She was preceded in death by her parents Connie & Beatrice Samples; baby daughter Deborah and siblings, Ronnie, Glenda, Sharon, Ricky and many other infant siblings.

Barbara was an avid Detroit Tigers fan; she watched or listened to almost every game. She was always up for round of Yahtzee or a card game. Throughout the years she enjoyed making many treasures with her crocheting talent.   Barbara had many great times at the casinos and bingo halls with Walt and her girls. But overall, Barbara’s best days were spent with her family. She was the happiest when her house was full of family, a card game around the table and the Tigers game on. Barbara’s sweet, kind and loving nature will be greatly missed.

Her funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, 1pm at Temrowski Family Funeral Home, 500 Main St., Fenton, 48430. Friends my visit beginning Friday at 11am until the time of service at 1pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barbara’s family, C/O Walter Richards.
