Barbara J. Arno (nee: Serino), age 79 of Holly, passed away peacefully June 18, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family after a six-year heroic battle with breast cancer. Barbara was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, to the late Joseph and Mary Irene (Byrne) Serino on March 21, 1943. Barbara grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods. She attended St. Joan of Arc elementary school and Dominican high school. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Michael S. Arno, and daughters Amy MacIntosh (Christopher) and Sandra Lyons (J.Christopher) as well as her grandchildren Tyler MacIntosh, Avery Lyons and Emily MacIntosh who were the light of her life and who she held in a special place in her heart. Barbara is also survived by her loving sister Charlene Serino and long-time friends Ann and John Borg. Thank you to Compassus Hospice, Grand Blanc, especially Leeann, for the care and comfort provided during Barbara’s last days. Barbara worked for the FBI in Detroit until the birth of her children. She lived in Livonia, Novi, Oscoda, W. Bloomfield, and Wixom before retiring to N. Ft. Myers, Florida where she enjoyed bowling and golfing. Barbara will always be remembered as loyal and hard working. There was nothing she wouldn’t tackle from exchanging out a microwave oven to clearing land to build their home. She always smiled and was always very generous with her time, talent and possessions. She loved animals and a house full of people especially during the holidays. Her door was always open and welcoming.
