Alfred "Al" Dale Waterson, 96 years old, of Flushing Michigan, passed away on December 13 at 3:30 PM surrounded by family. Al was born in Beulah, Michigan on October 7, 1926 to Frances and Clarabelle (Wright) Waterson. He served in the US Armed Forces as a PFC Lieutenant Vehicle Driver in the engineering branch of the ERC from 1950 to 1952, where he studied and earned his GED. Following his service, Al worked as a postal carrier for the FPD for 30 years. Al had three sons, Alvin, Carl (deceased) and Roger; when he met the love of his life, Margaret Louise Shepard, in 1965. They married on May 4, 1968 and together created a beautiful life for 54 years. In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by brothers Eugene and Willard Waterson; sons Carl and Alvin Waterson; step-daughter Gayle (Goad) Lazar; and grandson Michael Waterson. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Shepard) Waterson: son Roger Waterson; brother Robert Waterson; Sister Reba (Waterson) Skellinger; step-son Gary (Mary Ann) Goad; son in-law Sam Lazar; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A service of remembrance will take place Saturday Dec. 17 at West Flint Church Of The Nazarene 2254 S. Dye Rd. Flint, MI 48532. Family will meet privately from 10:00-11:00am. Friends please join for visitation at 11:00. Service begins at 12:00pm with a luncheon to follow.
