James Barker

James (Jim) Barker, born, April 1, 1956 went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2019.  Jim was a very hard worker, as a High Rise glazier. He served 2 years in the US Army and 2 years in the US Marine Corp. Jim enjoyed spending time up north, camping and working on vehicles. He especially loved playing cards with his mother in law and father in law, Ruth and Wayne Hunt. He loved his dog and friend, Ginger. Jim loved his family very much. He is survived by his wife of  25 1/2 years, Katherine (Kathy) Hunt-Barker. Daughter, Taylor (Brian) Ellison. Son, Jacob Barker. Daughter, Katie (Brandon) Grimslid. Grandaughter, Addie Grimslid. Brothers, Calvin (Shelia) Gosman and Larry Gosman. Sister, Jo Davidson (Bill), mother in law and father in law, Ruth & Wayne Hunt, sister in law, Carrie (Tom) Shinabarger, nieces, Michelle, Amanda, Heather and Heidi. He was preceded in death by his adoptive mother, Geneva Talley, biological mother, Penny Groffen (Taylor) and sister, Penney, Kay Hutchinson (Stone) and his daughter, Rebecca Barker. A special “Thank you” to Swartz Ambulance employees for dialysis transportation and their excellent care. Also, “Thank you” to his favorite nurse, Leeanne and his therapist, Lisa from AZ home health care. A Veteran’s Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Any donations made in the memory of Jim, should be forwarded to his wife, Kathy Barker.
